In collaboration with the Islamic Council of NSW (ICNSW) and Australian Islamic Education Services (AIES), Australian Capital Territory Islamic Education Services (ACTIES) will be delivering, in 2023, Islamic religious education in ACT Government schools.
The syllabus is based on the Islamic Special Religious Education (ISRE) program which has been successfully delivered to 300 schools in NSW.
Pilot Program 2023
ACTIES is currently conducting a pilot program in three selected public schools in the ACT – Amaroo School, Gungahlin College and Neville Bonner School.
The program will be expanded across a wider number of schools in 2024.

Volunteers
The program relies heavily on volunteer teachers who are supported through regular training and development.
Volunteers are also involved in other roles including:
- Executive members
- Administration- Team leaders and supervisors
- Database maintaince
- IT support
